30 Minutes To Your Next Million Dollar Idea
By Patrick Huey

Have you ever read the newspaper or watched the news on television and come across a story of some person who came up with an outrageous idea such a hula hoop, pet rock or glow-in-the-dark toy that made millions of dollars for its creator? Or have you ever heard about how someone put an ad in the newspaper and asked people to send him all of the spare change they had lying around the house so he could start a college fund, only to find out that he collected over a million dollars in spare change?

You probably look at these ideas and wonder to yourself, "Why didn't I think of that?" Read More

Building a High-Traffic Web Site (or Blog)
By Patrick Huey

Most people who create websites or blogs do so because they love what they do or have a need to express themselves. However, many have discovered that creating useful websites or blogging can be a lucrative business.

Nevertheless, when it comes to creating a website or blog, most webmasters are saddled with the same problem: how do I get traffic to my website or blog?

I can't really say which expert has the best advice, but I can say that when it comes to building website traffic, you should pay attention to someone who has experience doing this. Read More

By John Gergye

It's easy. So easy it's almost criminal. But I can get one-way high page rank (PR) links whenever I want.

How?

Come closer. Let me whisper in your ear.

It involves articles, the Google toolbar and a tracking sheet.

That's it's. Because there's really nothing to getting high PR one way links. Read More

Timeless Rules Of Investing
By Dr. Steve Sjuggerud
President, Investment U

I sat down this morning to write the "Timeless Rules of Investing" for you. In no time, I had 50 rules that I consider to be "investing gospel" - many of which were culled from the pages of my favorite investment books. If you stray from these rules, chances are you'll get into trouble.

Consider each rule carefully. There is a lot hiding behind these simple sentences. In many cases, entire books have been written on just one rule below. Consider if you believe that rule, and why or why not. And honestly assess if you've broken that rule recently. Read More

Home-sale tax break is a boon for most owners
Kay Bell
Bankrate.com

What's the best tax break available to Jane and John Q. Public? If they're homeowners, it's selling their house.

Homeowners already know the many tax breaks that Uncle Sam offers, most notably mortgage interest and property tax deductions. Well, he also has good tax news for home sellers: Most of them won't owe the Internal Revenue Service a single dime. Read More

Million Dollar Sales Letters For Your Own Use and Profit
By Robert Collier

INTRODUCTION

Selling by mail can be the easiest and least expensive method of selling your services or commodities. It can also be the most difficult and the most expensive method of doing the job. It all depends on the method you use in presenting your offering to your prospects; it depends on the kind of a letter you send to them.

To write such a letter, a message that explains concisely yet completely and in an action-compelling manner what you have to offer, is a job that demands the services of an expert versed in every one of the thousand phases of selling and one with many years of successful mail order experience at his command.

If you would choose the one man in the United States who could write for you a sales letter that would produce the results you desire, you would probably ask Robert Collier to do the job. Backed by many years of success in the field of selling by mail, selling every commodity from trench machinery to fertilizers, books and raincoats, stocks and bonds and services, he has placed hundreds of millions of dollars into the pockets of the clients for whom he has written his master sales letter. As a consequence, he is today, America's premier writer of successful selling letters.

We asked Mr. Collier to select from the many thousands of sales letters considered the best of them all. It was a difficult job to pick fifteen of the best from a list of ten thousand of the best. but the job is finished and here are the letters. These are the fifteen letters considered the best ever written by the man acknowledged to be the best writer of sales letters in America today. They have been actually tested, they have been actually used, they actually sold over one million dollars of services and merchandise.

These letters will sell for you. Choose those which are applicable to your own business. Alter them only to such an extent as to accord with the products and services you have to sell. But it will pay you, too, to study them all, for they all contain the essential elements that enter into every successful sales letter. They contain ideas that you may apply successfully in sales letters of your own dictation. Read More.

Invest Like Warren Buffett: A Simple Yet Powerful Philosophy for Investing
By Dr. Steve Sjuggerud
Chairman, Investment U

Legendary investor Warren Buffett said yesterday in London that things aren't that bad right now, and that the stock market is "way out of sync with the economy."

When the greatest investor on the planet is optimistic, that's as bullish a sign as you'll find anywhere.

Warren Buffett became the second wealthiest man in the world (with $36 billion) by investing with one simple principle: He only invests in businesses he understands, and at prices so cheap that there's plenty of margin for safety if things go wrong. Read More

Why You Should Love Craigslist
Contributed by jim | August 11, 2005 08:15 AM PST

"risk", a frequent commenter here at blueprint, left a comment in my previous post on Home Reserve furniture about how he/she (I'm pretty sure risk is a he, so I'll use he from now on, unless she objects :)) scored a nice three piece Ikea PAX Wardrobe for a mere $150 (saving, he estimated, $600) on Craigslist. This motivated me to want to write about the benefits of craigslist to the personal finance conscious. Craigslist is a free service akin to an online community bulletin board where anyone can post anything for free (some listings require payment, but none related to what the average John or Jane would use). The beauty of it is that you can sell and buy lots of things for fractions of their original cost (such as risk's PAX wardrobe). Read More

FOREX 101: Make Money with Currency Trading
By Rich McIver
The Forex Blog: Currency Trading News

For those unfamiliar with the term, FOREX (FOReign EXchange market), refers to an international exchange market where currencies are bought and sold. The Foreign Exchange Market that we see today began in the 1970's, when free exchange rates and floating currencies were introduced. In such an environment only participants in the market determine the price of one currency against another, based upon supply and demand for that currency.
FOREX is a somewhat unique market for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is one of the few markets in which it can be said with very few qualifications that it is free of external controls and that it cannot be manipulated. It is also the largest liquid financial market, with trade reaching between 1 and 1.5 trillion US dollars a day. With this much money moving this fast, it is clear why a single investor would find it near impossible to significantly affect the price of a major currency. Furthermore, the liquidity of the market means that unlike some rarely traded stock, traders are able to open and close positions within a few seconds as there are always willing buyers and sellers.

Another somewhat unique characteristic of the FOREX money market is the variance of its participants. Investors find a number of reasons for entering the market, some as longer term hedge investors, while others utilize massive credit lines to seek large short term gains. Interestingly, unlike blue-chip stocks, which are usually most attractive only to the long term investor, the combination of rather constant but small daily fluctuations in currency prices, create an environment which attracts investors with a broad range of strategies. Katrina - Internet Marketing Saved My Life
By Marc Quarles

I live in Slidell, Louisiana. Check that - I *used* to live in Slidell, Louisiana. Slidell is now really nothing more than a collection of abandoned and flooded buildings that over 35,000 people used to call home.

With all the media attention on New Orleans, it's easy to forget about the smaller, more rural areas that have also been destroyed, and will most likely never fully recover... areas like my town of Slidell. Read More.

How To Make Money On The Internet
By Riley McBride
Being the owner of an online business is one of the best feelings I know.

The startup costs are very small in comparison to starting a "dirt world" business. Before the Internet, setting up in business was a high risk activity. You could invest thousands in an idea that you really believe in only to find and nobody else believes in it. I'm sure you've heard the statistics: 95 percent of new startups fail. Not a great figure, it has to be said.

I'm not saying that starting an Internet business is likely to succeed any more than a regular business but the risks involved are much smaller. You could start up fifty online businesses for the amount of money you may have invested in a real world business. That is quite a powerful fact. On the Internet you have room to fail. You just have to pick yourself up and try something else. Read More.
